Common Areas

Main Floor:

Guests are encouraged to feel comfortable using the common areas on the main floor of our inn, including the foyer, parlor, living room, and dining room. Use the parlor and living room for reading or
conversing with a glass of wine or cup of morning coffee in hand.Musicians are welcome to use the parlor's piano. A compact disk player and television is available the living room.

The dining room is where the breakfast half of the bed and breakfast appears. Ukrainian Egg decorating classes are also usually taught here. For evenings and rainy weather we have decks of cards, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, chess, cribbage, and other games.

The inn's front porch is a popular place for our guests. Even the innkeepers go there when they have a break. Two rocking chairs
and a small table surrounded by four chairs provide a place for morning coffee, a glass of wine, or cold beverages after a bike ride.

Gardens and Grounds:

Flowers are in bloom throughout the summer and fall. A flowering crabapple tree dominates the
springtime lawn. Later come tulips, daisies, coreopsis, lilies, irises, spiria, blazing stars, azalea, lupine, roses, black-eyed Susans, and others. And because we use no synthetic chemicals on our lawn, you're likely to see clover and a dandelion or two. Innkeeper Vicki makes an effort to have freshly-cut flowers from the garden available for our guests.

In the fall, our maples, aspen, and sedum turn the colors of autumn, with our backyard maple standing just outside the living room window becoming an especially brilliant shade of red.

Deer are often seen in our yard by early risers. A rabbit made our yard its home. Last year two young mourning doves were raised by their parents near our rosebushes, hopping around relatively unafraid of people.

Winter gives our inn a warm, homey feel - snow on the roof, but cheery inside.
